Twitter and Facebook

Twitter and Facebook

Here at GFT, we see social networking as a way to engage with our audience, to find out your thoughts on what we do and what you want from us. As well as letting you know about all of the interesting things going on at GFT, we use Twitter, Facebook and our blog to encourage debate around film and moving image, its value and its future.

This page serves as a who's who of those of us within the organisation who you'll meet in these spaces.

Jen

Jen Davies (JD)

Jen manages the communications and marketing team and is responsible for making sure you know what's going on at GFT and Glasgow Film Festival. She loves adventures, wandering around the city and reading tales of ill-fated polar exploration. Her favourite film (at the moment, anyway) is Fitzcarraldo. You can find her on twitter @jendavies

Emily Munro

Dr Emily Munro (EM)

Emily has been Head of GFT Learning since July 2007 and is responsible for GFT’s lifelong learning strategy. She previously worked as a university tutor, freelance writer and script consultant and was involved with a European think tank on film policy. She has a PhD in film studies. She will tell anyone who’ll listen that Apichatpong Weerasethakul is the most important director of the century.

Allison Gardner (AG)

Allison joined the GFT in 1993 and now heads the programming team. In 2006 she took over the artistic element of programming the Glasgow Film Festival in conjunction with Co-Director Allan Hunter. She has the best job in the world as she gets to see great films at festivals across the globe. She loves cycling in France and the drinking the finest wines known to humanity.

Carolyn Mills

Carolyn Mills (CM)

As a former documentary filmmaker Carolyn has experience of playing nude volleyball, encouraging big egos to talk more concisely on camera and coaxing wartime memories from octogenarians - none of which is relevant to her role as Marketing Coordinator at GFT/GFF. Just as well she's also worked in marketing for the Edinburgh International Film and Book Festivals. She likes Frida Kahlo's self portraits, Werner Herzog's documentaries, cheesy dad jokes and stripy silver cats.

Flash

Paul Macgregor (PMac)

Paul is responsible for GFT's School and Youth activities. He began his film career as a GFT Project Scotland intern during his last year of university. After that he worked for film festivals and a film distributor in London, then happily returned to GFT. He loves seeing Cinema 1 full of wee bairns,  surly teenagers and hipster students, especially for GYFF and the Late Night Classics which he programmes.

Michael Richardson

Michael Richardson (MR)

Michael is the Digital Marketing Assistant at GFT and is responsible for updating the website, replying to your messages on Facebook and Twitter, and making sure the e-newsletter is sent out on time. He likes musical theatre, makeover montages and fantasy films from the 1980s.

Seonaid

Seonaid Daly (SD)

Seonaid is the producer of the Glasgow Film Festival. She works with all our partner venues and programmers to ensure the festival is as exciting and dynamic as it can possibly be. She is an expert multi-tasker and loves collaborating with other organisations and creatives in the city and further afield. She also co-directs www.voxpopulus.co.uk and is addicted to Hot Yoga.

Mr Cosmo

Mr Cosmo (MC)

Mr Cosmo has been around since before the Cosmo (GFT's predecessor) was built. He loves continental cinema, wearing a bowler hat (even indoors!) and can usually be found somewhere in GFT. You can find him on twitter @mrcosmo1939 and if you'd like to be his friend - he's on facebook www.facebook.com/mrcosmo1939. You can also reach him by email on mrcosmo@gft.org.uk but he really prefers getting letters in the post.
